How it started...

Rob and Matthijs, two school friends who share a passion for entrepreneurship. Their adventure began in their younger years as they journeyed together through hotel schools in Groningen and Leeuwarden. Both always had an entrepreneurial spirit, working alongside their studies in the vibrant hospitality industry and at lively events. 

Their friendship grew stronger when they co-organized events, with Matthijs shining in hospitality while Rob worked behind the scenes to ensure flawless execution. This remarkable collaboration made them realize they were a perfect match, so they decided to embark on internships together. Their hearts yearned for sunny destinations, ultimately leading them to the beautiful Bali. There, they experienced a month and a half full of inspiration, and they decided to turn their entrepreneurial dream into reality. 

Back in the Netherlands, Rob and Matthijs worked for a temporary employment agency for a while, but they soon discovered their true passions lay elsewhere. Bali had not only brought them beautiful memories but also valuable connections. They decided to seize this opportunity. A container full of diverse products was ordered, and to their delight, they quickly noticed that their tableware was selling best. It was a product that not only resonated well in the market but also seamlessly aligned with their own background in the hospitality industry. They understood the language of hospitality, from service to the kitchen, which gave them a unique perspective. 

With a clear focus on providing solutions for the hospitality sector, they launched the lightweight and practical St. James porcelain. This became a success, born out of friendship and a passion for the world of hospitality. With warm hearts and an entrepreneurial spirit, they nurtured Stylepoint into fruition.

How it started...

Rob and Matthijs.

Two school friends who share a passion for entrepreneurship. Their adventure began when they walked side by side through the hotel schools in Groningen and Leeuwarden. Both were always entrepreneurial and worked in the hospitality industry and at events alongside their studies.

Their friendship flourished further when they organized events together, with Matthijs working in hospitality and Rob behind the scenes ensuring execution. This great collaboration went so well that they later decided to go on an internship together to Bali.

Back in the Netherlands, Rob and Matthijs worked for a temporary employment agency for a while, but they quickly discovered that their passion lay elsewhere. Bali had not only brought them valuable memories but also good contacts. They decided to seize this opportunity with both hands. A container full of various products was ordered, and it soon became clear that their tableware sold very well. It was a product that not only had a good market demand but also seamlessly matched their own knowledge and experience within the hospitality industry. They understood the needs of the hospitality industry; from service to the kitchen, and that gave them a unique perspective.

With a clear focus on providing solutions for the hospitality industry, they launched the lightweight and practical St. James porcelain. Almost 20 years later, their friendship and passion for the hospitality industry proved to be a perfect combination for success.
